Tawaasal — school-management platform

Web backend and API, plus native-quality mobile apps for iOS and Android from a single codebase.

  • Multi-tenant: many schools on one deployment, white-label or centralised, with per-school branding and per-school light/dark theming.
  • Six role types — super admin, school admin, teacher, student, guardian, staff — each with its own permissions surface.
  • Academic management: homework, assignments, exams, online exams, grades, study materials.
  • Attendance with reporting and notification, and real-time messaging over WebSockets with push notification.
  • Offline-first mobile: works without connectivity and syncs on reconnect.
  • Four languages including Arabic with full right-to-left support (also English, French, Spanish).

School web and mobile programme

Built, deployed and operated school portals and companion mobile apps for a network of schools across four years.

  • ~24 distinct school deployments, in three waves: 7 administration portals (2018–2019), 13 schools under a single education network (2019–2020), a further 5 on the rebuilt platform (2021–2022).
  • Native mobile applications on both platforms — a native Android app and a native iOS app — white-labelled per school: separate branded builds shipped for individual schools, not one generic app.
  • Operated, not just delivered: containerised and run on a self-managed Kubernetes cluster, with the deployment tooling maintained in-house.
  • A shared codebase carried across all deployments, with per-school configuration.
